Dear Family of Bill-
As the parents of 3 recent graduates of Darien High School...it was an honor & thrill to have met Bill & listen to his sportscasting over the years. His love for sports and life in general were contagious! He had such a positive impact on all high athletes with his enthusiatic manner!
Bill is a legend in our minds; a true gentleman and one of a kind. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. I know how proud you must be of all his accomplishments . He was just an amazing individual.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Bill,

To say "The Odd Couple" gathering dinners just won't be the same without you would be an understatement. I will miss the smiles and laughter you brought with you over the past three years I've known you. You've been a really great friend and my heart goes out to your family.

I'll miss you, Scooter Scott.

Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of Bill. Bill became a dear friend to our entire family.
Bill's sporting coverage always reflected his great character and his respect for others. Bill was a consummate professional and a gentleman. He was fair to both the professional athlete, and more importantly, the young impressionable high school student. Bill earned the trust and friendship of everyone he met.
Bill shared many of our family’s milestones, as a reporter and a friend. He will be missed.

With deepest sympathy,
Willie, Cindy, Brock, Courtney,
Chad and Kendall Upshaw

He made a damp day bright with joy.

I enjoyed his enthusiasm and complete knowledge of the event past and present. When we left the Nutmeg Games opening day we knew more about the players, the events, the history, and the great support from the heart of a great man. Gosh, it's so hard to believe. I am tearful but blessed to have been in the audience he spoke so eloquently to on that day.

"don't look at the sky, yes they are coming down, but not now. Look up here, look at me, Focus, People" and we all laughed. Don't you think due to the weather a lot of people would have left if it wasn't for our captivation with this awesome guy. Too short a life for a life that was so huge...

To Bill's Family,
Everyone that has had the pleasure to have met Bill shares in your sorrow. Bill has supported our organization for many many years. We have always appreciated his professionalism, wit and humor. We are fortunate to have honored him recently with our Bill Kiesh Media award. I know he loved his job and he was so great at it that sometimes we forget how many people's lives he has touched. I loved talking High School Football with him, but you really could talk about any sport at any level. He has done so much for kids through out all of Connecticut. Bill was a first class person and will be irreplaceable. On behalf of the Walter Camp Football Foundation please except our sincere condolences.

To Bill's Family,

It is always hard to find out how many people loved someone after they have passed away. I knew Bill for over ten years and I find myself wishing I had told him when I saw him last week how much he meant to me and the rest of the Sacred Heart University family. I cannot imagine a sporting event on campus without Bill here.

From one parent to another, there are no words when you lose a child, no matter how old they are. But your son touched more hearts in his short time than most people do in their whole life times. We had the honor of seeing him many times, as my kids have participated in many local sports teams. Bill made our children feel proud of who they are. It doesn't get better than that. For that we thank you Billy!
I know that most people wish for "rest in peace", but I know you'll be too busy for that covering all the games that must be going on up in heaven.
Thanks again

I just want to say how sad I am to hear of this news. As mother of a high school athlete, I frequently saw Bill at various functions. We looked forward to his colorful sports casts. He was a friend to the high school sports world and he will be greatly missed.
